Blueland was founded in New York in 2019 by Sarah Paiji Yoo, a new mother who started questioning single-use plastic after learning about microplastics in the water she used for baby formula.

The company says it exists to eliminate single-use plastic packaging from everyday cleaning, one refill at a time.

Its core products are reusable Forever Bottles paired with dissolvable tablets for multi-surface cleaner, hand soap, and dish and laundry care, plus powder cleaners in compostable refill pouches.

Formulas are Cradle to Cradle certified and EPA Safer Choice listed, and the refill model has verifiably diverted over a billion single-use containers; the biggest gap is climate accounting, where the company publishes little measured footprint data.
