Sungai Watch
sungai.watch
Sungai Watch was founded in Bali in 2020 by siblings Gary, Kelly, and Sam Bencheghib, who grew up watching Indonesia's rivers carry plastic to the sea and decided to stand in the way. Sungai means river, and the method is direct: simple trash barriers across rivers, daily cleanups, and waste sorting, run by more than 150 paid river warriors. Every kilogram is counted and published in open impact reports. It is the river-cleanup entry in our collection, activism with a spreadsheet.
