How to Save a Planet was created in 2020 by marine biologist Dr. Ayana Elizabeth Johnson and journalist Alex Blumberg at Gimlet Media, with a founding question printed on its door: what do we need to do to solve the climate crisis, and how do we get it done? Across two years it became the benchmark for solutions-first climate audio, digging into recycling's reality, heat pumps, kelp farming, and climate careers with rigorous reporting and real jokes.
