ReTuna

ReTuna Aterbruksgalleria opened in Eskilstuna, Sweden in 2015 as the world's first recycling mall, built by the municipality directly beside the town recycling center. Residents drop off unwanted goods, mall staff sort them, and about 14 shops repair, upcycle, and resell everything from furniture to electronics, with a design school upstairs. It proved secondhand could anchor an entire shopping center, and delegations from around the world now tour it. It is the institutional endpoint of our marketplaces collection: reuse as urban infrastructure.
