Misfits Market was founded in 2018 by Abhi Ramesh after a Pennsylvania apple-picking trip, where he learned how much perfectly good fruit never leaves the orchard for being the wrong shape. The online grocer buys ugly and surplus produce, pantry goods, meat, and seafood directly from farms and producers and delivers them at up to 30 percent off, acquiring rival Imperfect Foods in 2022.
