make & mend was opened in Somerville, Massachusetts in 2017 by artist Emily S. Tirella, who kept watching usable art supplies go to waste while makers priced out of new ones went without. The shop collects gently used art and craft supplies, from yarn to printmaking tools, and resells them affordably in-store and online. Creative reuse keeps high-embodied-energy materials working and lowers the cost of making. It is the craft-supply thrift store of our marketplaces group.
