Etsy launched from a Brooklyn apartment in 2005 to give craftspeople a marketplace of their own, and grew into the global home of handmade and vintage, supporting millions of independent sellers. Buying handmade or twenty-years-old is a different supply chain than buying factory-new, and Etsy backs it with renewable-powered operations and carbon-offset shipping. The vintage side alone makes it one of the largest secondhand markets anywhere. It is the handmade-and-vintage anchor of our marketplaces collection.
